Recently we decided to start this blog again a little more seriously. One way that we decided to do that was to put it on its own shared hosting service. Now, this was a big step for us, and it was also something that was not easy. Because web hosting is such a competitive industry there are alot of companies out there providing web hosting services. Web Hosting in Australia is also very competitive. Mainly because you can get so many companies offering hosting. We like to get objective views on key decisions. And which host to choose was a big one. Obviously reviews and comments and various opinion pieces are the way to go. But, finding authentic voices in the sea of web hosting reviews is hard. We also wanted an australian web hosting review website when we were looking, which is why we liked the look of besthost.com.au so much. So many other hosting reviews sites we built on .com domains or .org or something else. We really felt better seeing this one on a .com.au domain. Worth a look if you are starting website or building a blog.

For a long time now it seems as though blogging has been the “cool” way to make money online.

People have built up blogs that make them hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, if not more, and as a result we see scores of people trying to copy them.

But what I have to wonder is whether blogging will be around for much longer.

Here’s why:

Smart phones are becoming so popular that people might instead prefer micro-blogging sites like Twitter

Facebook is so rampantly successful that people are getting less and less of their news from websites

The competition is now so high that less people will enter the market or maintain sites

But the thing is, it seems like a lot of people still are blogging and starting new blogs. Professional ones. Nice ones.

And I guess I am one of them!

On this site I’m going to be talking lots about how to apply offline business tips to the online world. I think it could be really interesting. I hope to see you around the blog a lot more.
